EWP looking for interns
The EWP is currently looking for interns to assist the Partnership in developing the numerous activities planned for 2008. Active, flexible candidates with good communication skills and an interest in water issues are invited to send a letter and CV to the EWP explaining how their skills and experiences would contribute to the work of the EWP.
You will be working as part of the EWP team in Brussels, helping to organise and develop initiatives like the Water Stewardship, the European Regional Process for the fifth World Water Forum, the cooperation between the EWP and the European Parliament, setting up projects on water, etc. Specific tasks will be defined on the basis of your interests and skills.
Tasks
Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Helping develop the various activities of the EWP
- Communicating with members, European Institutions and other stakeholders.
- Research into the various water challenges Europe faces.
- Assisting in organising the European Water Policy Summit on Water; Stockholm Water Week Side Event; Water Stewardship and Aquawareness stakeholder workshops; World Water Forum Regional Coordination Committee meetings, etc.
- Assisting in development and coordination of project initiatives on finding innovative solutions for the current water challenges.
- Developing and providing input for the EWP website, the website of European Water News and Blue Gold.
- Specific tasks will be defined on the basis of your interests and skills.
Requirements
- University degree or in the later phase of university education
- Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written), knowledge of other European languages is an advantage. Strong and proficient writing skills
- Interest in water and European policy issues.
- Flexible, active team player. Self-motivated and organised
- Knowledge of European Institutions desirable.
- Available for at least three months in 2008. Please indicate in your letter which period you would be available.
You will be based in our office in Brussels - a highly motivating working environment in an international NGO in the heart of Europe. The EWP will pay a monthly contribution to living costs.
