The European Committee of Environmental Technology Suppliers Associations (EUCETSA) is set up to represent the interests of the European Environmental Technology Suppliers.By representing its members in the European Union, EUCETSA is contributing to the definition of the environment we live in today and in the future. We aim to promote a better exploitation of environmental technologies, and help eliminate important obstacles to innovation in this sector.

Currently EUCETSA has a membership of thirteen national trade associations, in the area of air, water, soil and waste technologies, representing close to 1500 companies. This makes EUCETSA the largest representative association for Environmental Technology Companies in Europe.

Environmental Technologies can be defined as technologies that are less polluting, use fewer resources, and recycle more wastes wastes and products than their alternatives. Broad examples of these technologies are recycling, sewage treatment and renewable energy technologies. By making better use of existing technologies and constantly improving those technologies we can better protect and preserve our environment and work towards a more sustainable future for our planet.

Participation in major research projects

Implementing the Environmental Technology Action Plan of the European Union includes improved testing, performance verification and standardisation of environmental technologies. The EU has initiated a number of research and demonstration projects in this field. EUCETSA participates in two of those projects: AIRTV and TESTNET. EUCETSA’s role in these projects is either to provide input from its members or to disseminate results among them. EUCETSA also participates in the research project TECHNEAU.
