The European Policy Summit on Water last November called for a stronger and more focused cooperation on Climate Change Adaptation and Water in Europe. Within the framework of the European Regional Process for the fifth World Water Forum, the European Water Partnership, the Dutch Ministry for Transport and Public Works, the World Water Council, the Cooperative Programme on Water and Climate and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe aim to respond to this call by organising a:

Conference on Climate Change Adaptation and Water

Brussels, 12 and 13 March.

This Conference will be the first step in setting up this stronger cooperation in Europe. It will bring together various initiatives on Climate Change Adaptation and Water (CCAW) undertaken in Europe on both international and national level, such as the Dutch Delta Commission Report and the UNECE Guidance on Water and Climate Adaptation. It will demonstrate and promote best practices, ensuring Europe can make best use of numerous efforts already undertaken. Furthermore it will address the contents of the new EU White Paper on Climate Change and Adaptation and its effects on CCAW policies around Europe.
