Flood protection structure assessment
Every five years, the current hydraulic situation of The Netherlands’ primary flood protection structures needs to be reported to the Minister of Transport and Public Works.
For 2006, ARCADIS was asked by the Ministry of Waterways and Public Works to draw up the background reports for a total of some 3500 km of dunes, dikes, dams, locks, levees and dike-ring connecting structures involved. The reports provide input for the Dutch flood protection program; the State Secretary of Transport and Public Works will use the results in finalizing this program.
