Delta Geotechnical Levee Evaluation Project - Sacramento, United Sates

Fugro is a member of the U.R.S.-G.E.I.-Fugro team that was recently selected by California Department of Water Resources (DWR) for the Geotechnical Levee Evaluation project. This is a 3 year contract for the Team that includes investigation and evaluation of 300 miles of DWR flood control levees within the urban areas in the Marysville-Yuba City, Sacramento, and Stockton-Lathrop areas.

Key components of the project include assisting the DWR in developing a levee certification methodology based on geotechnical data and the FEMA certification criteria, collecting the subsurface data through borings and CPTs, performing engineering analyses (slope stability, settlement, seepage and seismic), and preparing the Geotechnical Evaluation Reports. The evaluations will be conducted with the goal of providing 200 year level of protection in urban areas and 100 year level of protection in rural areas. Work will proceed on a brisk pace with field operations beginning this fall.
